Summer Travel Abroad Essentials

Happy Thursday! Today is one of the most exciting days I have had while living abroad because we are heading to ITALY! Visiting Italy has been a lifelong dream and I honestly can’t contain my excitement. We will be spending five days there total- three in Rome and two in Florence. I will definitely be sharing a travel recap when we get home next week. Our flight is at 4:30pm so we are headed to the airport soon but I know so many people are traveling abroad this summer, so I thought I’d share a summer travel essentials list with you all.

International chargers + converters- These are a necessity while traveling abroad. The outlets vary country to country and so does the voltage. I have now blown one curler & one blow dryer lol so be sure to check the outlet and voltage of the country you’re visiting prior to your trip. Mine are from Best Buy and can be found here.

Travel size products and limited liquid items- I recommend this for two reasons. First, it allows you more space in your suitcase which means less weight to haul around. If you’re traveling abroad you will be doing a lot of walking around and public transportation, you don’t want anything too heavy. *I need to take my own advice* Second, each airport is different. Some airports have allowed me to travel with however many liquid items I had in my carry on and some *cough London, Heathrow, cough* have made me throw away almost all of many liquid items. If you are like me, just be prepared to part with full size and or liquid products.

Sunscreen- Self explanatory but sometimes we forget. This next week in Italy is forecasted at 90 degrees and sunny everyday. Send us all your good luck wishes as we wait in line to get into the different attractions.

Reusable Water Bottle- Unlike back in the states, water is not free. Here in Germany, a water is more expensive than ordering a beer! Packing a reusable water bottle can save you money and is good for our environment as well. For traveling, I prefer one with a twistable lid so I can just throw it in my purse and not have to worry about any spillage.

Hair Accessories- Hair accessories are such a hot trend right now and I am loving it. They take up almost no room at all in your suitcase, and add so much style to an outfit. Not to mention, us girls love to put our hair up when we get hot during those summer days.

Fun Summery Suitcase- This is absolutely not necessary but I think it’s so much fun to have a crazy suitcase. It makes life so much easier when you’re waiting at baggage claim to get your suitcase. I can almost guarantee no one else will be waiting for their blue suitcase that’s covered in pineapples. Mine can be found here, it's from the Jessica Simpson luggage line.
