I Moved to Germany?!?

To my friends and family,

I don’t know where to begin so I think I am just going to blurt it out. Yes, Rob and I moved to Germany! It did happen rather quickly therefore I know some of you may be wondering, “What in the world are they doing in Germany?!”

So here goes nothing, Rob received a job offer in Germany with the same company he works for in the US. He officially received the offer in (very) late August, early September. We had just moved into our first apartment together in late July. Basically, we had not even finished unpacking our things when we found out the BIG news. A lot of things ran through my mind, at first I was so confused as to what we were going to do and also slightly annoyed by the timing of everything. Eventually, (*cough* A MONTH AGO *cough*) I started to open up to the idea of possibly moving abroad. (Small disclaimer: I had never even been out of the country up until our “Look & See” trip about a month ago). Rob and I have been dating for 5+ years, I knew we could do long distance, but did we really want to do that? Did I really want to pass up the opportunity to live abroad with my best friend? After many, many long discussions with my amazing friends + family, I finally decided this is something I could do.

I definitely heard both sides of the spectrum in the past two months. Most of the people in my life looked at me like I was crazy when I mentioned the thought of staying behind (I admire you adventurous people!!!), and others understood why I was hesitant. It was a very difficult decision to make because I did leave behind my loved ones, my full-time job as a Marketing Coordinator, my new car, my fave Starbucks barista, and not to mention my nail technician (s/o to Liz). I have never been super adventurous and prefer the routine and norm of things, but I always felt like SOMETHING was missing – like maybe I wasn’t living my life to the fullest?

So, here I am. Beginning this new chapter of my life, quitting my job, moving to a new country, and starting a blog! Each day I find myself stepping out of my comfort zone and pushing myself a little bit farther, you know, like I am living life more full(er) ;)

I hope you enjoyed checking out my first ever blog post!! I also hope you have gotten more insight as to why we all of sudden up and left the US of A, and come back to check out more! I am so excited to use this move as an opportunity to share my story with you and to have you join us on this crazy adventure.

XO,
Tor
